CSTEP: Improving the Quality of Life
By Communications & Policy Engagement Team.
At CSTEP, the objective has always been to make a difference. It has been about being a force for good, contributing to improving the quality of life of people in India, who make up nearly 18% of the global population.
As we observe the Global Goals Week, it is worthwhile to mention that through its work in renewable energy, climate, environment and sustainability, and artificial intelligence (AI), CSTEP has been assiduously carrying forward its mission of being a powerful change agent.
From making it easier for people to gain access to clean energy and ensuring that citizens can breathe clean air, to leveraging the enormous potential of AI to tackle malnutrition, CSTEP has been doing its bit for strengthening the foundation for improving India’s ranking in the global Human Development Index (HDI).
Through focussed interventions in the rooftop solar segment and energy storage arena, and by working closely with key stakeholders at the federal and state levels, CSTEP has been engaged in furthering the development of a robust renewable energy ecosystem in India — one that can lift vulnerable populations out of their present stations in life and, also, significantly provide a booster shot to the economy.
By coming up with city-specific clean air action plans and partnering with relevant authorities to get these recommendations implemented, CSTEP has been contributing to the national mission of ensuring clean air for all. As an ambassador of the climate cause, CSTEP has been raising awareness about climate change and advocating the need for all stakeholders to join hands for addressing the ‘climate emergency’ that we now face. CSTEP’s AI-driven solutions are improving the quality of care provided to expectant mothers and young children.
While these developments do give us a small measure of satisfaction, we recognise that much work remains to be done. One thing is for sure, though. Going forward, also, CSTEP would continue to put its best foot forward for the betterment of living standards in India.
