Policymakers at India Clean Air Summit (ICAS) 2022 call for synergistic policies that address both climate change and air pollution
The 4-day 4th edition of CSTEP’s flagship event, the India Clean Air Summit (ICAS 2022), witnessed discussions on addressing the twin issues of air pollution and climate change. Over 350 people from various walks of life, bound by their concern about air pollution and its harmful effect on human health, participated in ICAS 2022.
Discussions focused on energy-related emissions, how policymakers can enable more effective policies that target both air pollution and climate change, the significant and persisting challenge with data, and the public health crisis caused by air pollution. The final day of ICAS brought the Air Sensors International Conference to India for the first time ever. The day-long conference included training sessions on low-cost sensors.
That’s not all. 15 students from across the country presented their research on various aspects of air pollution and its impact on human health through a poster competition. Technologists exploring product solutions addressing various aspects of air pollution monitoring and management and health showcased their work.
