The Hydrogen Hype

--

CSTEP will organise H2 — The Nuts and Bolts to explore the opportunities and challenges for a green hydrogen economy

Four centuries after Henry Cavendish identified the element hydrogen, it is now finally taking centre stage. Just in time too, it would seem, considering the times we live in.

In August 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced India’s goal to become a green hydrogen hub — an initiative aimed at enabling a quantum leap in the country’s transition to clean energy. Just six months later, in January 2022, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) signed an agreement to advance “cost-effective decarbonisation” through the development of domestic green hydrogen.

While we see the potential for green hydrogen to achieve these goals, exactly where are we and where do we go from here?

Join us at H2 — The Nuts and Bolts on March 16 from 3 to 4.30 pm IST, where we will explore the opportunities and challenges for a green hydrogen economy and plan the way forward for India. Dr Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, will deliver the keynote address.

Please save the date. We will be sharing the details and invites soon.
